At the Skoll World Forum in Oxford

During this year’s Skoll World Forum in Oxford, The Future is Fungi Award took part in one of the world’s leading gatherings for social entrepreneurs, philanthropic funders, and nonprofit leaders working on environmental and social challenges.

Held annually in Oxford, the Skoll World Forum convenes a global community focused on scaling solutions to the world’s most pressing issues. The forum serves as a platform for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and partnership-building across sectors, with a strong emphasis on systems change and innovation.

Founder Susanne Gløersen represented the initiative at the forum and hosted a dedicated event to highlight the role of fungal innovation in addressing environmental challenges. The session focused on the growing relevance of fungi-based solutions within regenerative, nature-based systems, and explored how emerging innovators in this space are contributing to a shift toward more sustainable and biobased models.

The Future is Fungi Award continues to engage with international networks and platforms such as the Skoll World Forum to increase awareness of fungal innovation and its potential impact across industries and ecosystems.
