Susanne was recently interviewed by Marc Violo of Mycostories, where she outlined the award’s mission to accelerate fungal innovation worldwide. In the interview, Susanne highlights how fungi remain underfunded and underrecognized despite their potential to address urgent environmental challenges, and explains how the award is filling this gap by providing innovators with capital, networks, and global visibility. She also reflects on the success of the first edition — which attracted 257 applications from 70 countries — and shares how the second edition will further strengthen the ecosystem by supporting pioneering startups and science entrepreneurs with investment, venture-building programs, and international recognition. The next award will be launched on September 10.
