Here are more details so you can start preparing your application.

Timeline & Process

  • Application Window: 10th September – 1st October

  • Final Deadline: 1st October, 24:00 CET

  • Winner & Top 3 Startups Announced: 25th November via the awards social media channels.

What You’ll Submit

An application

  • Submit an application

  • The application form will be available from 10th September – 1st October

  • Link to the awards application platform will be available on the awards homepage

  • The final deadline 1st October, 24:00 CET. No extensions, even for trailblazing innovators, so make sure to deliver on time!

  • Let it shine through why you are the one to win The Future is Fungi Award!

A 5-6 minute Video Pitch:

  • Make a 5-6 minute video pitch to tell us why you are the startup winner of the Future is Fungi Award!

  • You can record the video via f.ex Zoom (self-record), via mobile or other ways.

  • You can record yourself speaking record a slide presentation with a small video of you, or just the slide presentation, up to you!

  • The video will be uploaded to the awards application platform, link avaiable from 10th of September

  • Upload the video in the format of MP4, MPEG4, or MOV.

What we will ask you to include in the video

We will ask you to cover the below in the video. beyond that, shape it as you want to! This is your chance to claim the spotlight and get to the top of The Future is Fungi Award!

  • Your Innovation

    • Introduce your innovation - what is your core product, technology, or approach?

    • What makes it novel or frontier compared to existing solutions?

  • The Problem & Environmental Impact

    • What pressing environmental challenge(s) are you solving (e.g., climate change, nature and biodiversity loss,  addressing a linear petro-based system, pollution, etc.)?

    • What is the degree of positive environmental impact from your innovation?

  • Market & Business Opportunity

    • Who is your target market, and what is the market potential?

    • What’s your value proposition, and how do you position yourself competitively?

  • Traction

    • Share any traction you’ve gained (i.e., pilots, partnerships, patents, funding, etc.).

  • Team

    • Briefly introduce your team: why are you the right people to build this?

  • Strategy for Scaling

    • How do you plan to scale your business in the coming years?
